About Nadya
Hi there! I am so glad you found me! My mission is to empower you to #TakeYourTimeOff and explore the world.
I started this blog as a way to keep family and friends in the loop when I went on a 3-week trip to Asia in 2011. Although I’ve always enjoyed traveling, it wasn’t until a trip to Peru in 2012 that I started to think about ways to make travel a priority in my life. Still, it was not something that happened overnight. In the modest Bulgarian household I grew up in, money had always been tight. Therefore, even as I advanced in my career, I still worried about not having “enough money.” It took a couple of brain surgeries and a different mindset for me to let go of that fear. Now, I add up some of my discretionary income, a generous amount of vacation time from work and my shrewdly collected and applied miles to travel as much as I possibly can. When I am not traveling, I am hiking, SUPping or playing pickleball in Portland, OR. My supposed one-year PNW stint from my then home in Los Angeles turned semi-permanent and, eventually, permanent.
I am obsessed with US national parks and I’m getting close to having visited all 63! But I also love walking my way through a city and its museums. I also love UNESCO World Heritage sites and always try to visit them if they are in the vicinity.
Again, welcome to my blog! If you’re not sure where to begin, start with my latest post and go from there!
