Fun Run in Rochester

[Rochester, NY]

I’ve been here for 4 days already, but between the day trips to Toronto and Niagara Falls and being in the conference hotel the rest of the time, I hadn’t really seen much of Rochester yet. The Tuesday fun run, which has been on the conference schedule for a few years now, allowed a few of us to get out and get some fresh air.

The route had us leave downtown Rochester and run along the Genesee river. There was till plenty of snow on the ground, but we had a clear path to run on. We made it all the way to the University of Rochester campus – one of two universities this city is known for. The other is the Rochester Institute for Technology, which I had applied to when I was looking at colleges in the US (that was back in 1998). Isn’t it funny where life takes you? 🙂 You may have also heard of Rochester as the birthplace of Kodak.

After the fun run, my old boss Martha, how now works at New York University, and I went out for dinner and had a fabulous time catching up. Alas, I am ready to head back home to California sunshine and “normal” temperatures. 🙂
